The hardest part was avoiding the chips and dip at the Mexican restaurant. My size twelves were getting too big. The days got easier. I ate cake but just a small piece. Pus the food will taste better. For starters, ADO makes everything very convenient. I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada.

Both are going to be a bit more pricey than Nutrisystem, but sound like they could be a better fit. My husband and I are considering NS. We also do not want to purchase ANY other food if possible. There are definitely some ways to keep the costs down though.
You will definitely want to incorporate fresh produce, though, as I think you would get tired of only eating their pre-made meals, and you will want to mix in a salad or something on most days just to get the health benefits from the fresh produce if nothing else.
Hi Pete — the frozen food is an additional charge, but can be included in your 4-week order or as an ala carte item. Many are on a fixed income and I am one of them … an older woman, a widow, and on a very fixed income.
With the profit your company surely must realize, might you consider offering your program free to a few deserving people men and women who would benefit from it as well? Just something you might consider … it just might be of benefit to your company in another way … good will! The Costco purchased gift cards can definitely be used and there is a space at checkout to put them in.
You will just have to make sure you put the gift card in a few days before the processing date for additional deliveries. I just went through this whole process and received my order today.
Thanks for the very thorough cost information. Helped make my decision a lot easier. I agree, too, the frozen meals are definitely a nice bonus — especially the desserts! There are some costs with buying your own fruits or vegetables to consider too, but overall it seems fairly affordable.

As long as you stay on the program for at least two months, you should be able to cancel without paying any type of penalty if you need to cancel after month 1 I mention one way to avoid the penalty in the review above , and customer service has always been very easy to deal with when I have needed to call them. Are the costs of the meals increased to take in the difference between the American and Canadian do. Also what about duty and taxes, as well as shipping fees. Hi Obie — I added a picture of the nutrition fact label on our Nutrisystem Shake page. I have limited freezer space and feel that the frozen foods would be the way for me to start and continue a controlled size appropriate diet. Does anyone offer three or four shipments monthly?

I have used your plan several years ago and did loose weight, but have gained some back. I am 81 yrs old and on a fixed income now. Having to buy extra food is not feasible me. These are all valid concerns -- but none of these is the most important question you should be asking yourself, says exercise physiologist Bryant A. Which machine do you really want to use? So instead of choosing the treadmill for the calorie-burning factor, or the elliptical trainer your friend recommended, figure out which machine feels best to you, he suggests. Nashville exercise physiologist Kathy Alexander agrees: But how do you know which machine is likely to feel right to you?
Here's what you can expect from the most popular cardio machines out there, along with some tips on getting the most out of your workout. Here's the lowdown on what you can expect from some of the machines you're likely to find at your local gym. The treadmill burns the most calories of any of the cardiovascular machines available at most gyms, says Alexander.
You can expect to burn about calories per mile, walking briskly. Stamford notes that a treadmill can be adapted to many different fitness levels by increasing the speed from walking to running or by adjusting the incline.
But even walking may be too much for someone who is overweight and has joint pain. Every time your foot hits the ground, says Alexander, "the impact forces are 3. Since a treadmill is moving under you, the impact may be slightly less than that. One more thing to keep in mind: Treadmills can pose a real balance challenge for new exercisers or those who haven't worked out in a while, says Matthew Vukovich, exercise physiologist and associate professor at South Dakota State University.

All our experts agree that the stationary bike offers the workout with the least impact on the joints. People with knee pain are often steered toward these bikes, since the impact of body weight is not a concern as it is on a treadmill, elliptical trainer, or stair stepper.
But to avoid knee strain, you must make sure the bike is adjusted to fit your body, Vukovich says. Most people sit too low, meaning their knees flex too much as they pedal. This can put too much pressure on the knee and result in soreness, warn Vukovich. The stationary bike is a less intense calorie-burner than some of the other machines.
You'll need to pedal four miles to burn calories, says Alexander. Rowers are more advanced cardiovascular machines. Because you must push with the legs while you pull with the arms, rowers require coordination.
